Family Therapy
Family therapy may be suggested or recommended for various reasons including supporting a youth with processing trauma, improving relationship functioning between family members, and shifting patterns of behavior. This may be the primary service, or incorporated as a part of one’s individual therapy process. I strongly recommended family therapy when working with younger children. I utilize a variety of activities, often incorporating play, movement and expressive arts to support families in exploring and creating new patterns and learning new skills in fun, non-confrontational way.

Child/Adolescent Therapy
I love working with children and teens! Because they’re still learning, growing, and developing, youth typically engage in therapy very differently than adults. Progress also usually looks and is experienced differently than in adults. Therefore I offer a variety of activities including expressive arts, sandtray, movement, play and mindfulness exercises. Parent/caregiver support and engagement significantly increases a youth’s success in therapy, so I strongly encourage parent engagement, and offer parenting, collateral and family therapy services to supplement a youth’s therapy process.

Parenting Support/Collateral Services
Parenting simultaneously has joys and challenges with never-ending surprises. When our children act or react with their big feelings it can be confusing and even worrying or frightening for us adults. I offer collateral services to help parents, caregivers and other significant people in a youth’s life with understanding their child’s mental health symptoms and learning strategies to support their child. Collateral services are also available for teachers, babysitters, and other significant people in a youth’s life.

Coordination of Care
When a person receives support from multiple providers such as psychiatrists, behavior coach, or school counselor, coordination of care is strongly recommended. Coordination of care focuses on organizing client care services and activities and ensuring services are focused on a common goal. This service may include discussions between individual team members (client, parents, etc), multi-disciplinary team meetings, attending and participating in IEP meetings, and child-family team meetings.
